TIME IS MONEY

TIME IS MONEY

Benjamin Franklin was the first person to use the same "time is money." In 1748 he published "Advice to a Young Tradesman" where he said, "Remember that time is money. He that idly loses five shillings' worth of time loses five shillings, and might as prudently throw five shillings into the sea," according to a publication titled "A History of Money."

The Hyphen by John Wayne

I miss John Wayne and what he always seemed to stand for. He is one of my very favorite actors. He reminds me of my Grandfather.

I agree with this message from both a human and political perspective. Nothing can be more dividing than 'the hyphen.' But I would go one further and respond more directly, adding that nothing can and is more divisive than labels to begin with. Some people don't bother anymore using the hyphen to describe a person ethnically here in the United States. They just call anyone who has dark skin and looks south of our borders as 'Mexican.' All people who wear Islamic dress are 'terrorist', and you and I know better. This will date me I am sure, but do you remember the old 'Polish' jokes? The same jokes were told about the Irish when they came to this country. Most Americans still think President Obama is Muslim. It shouldn't matter what religious faith he has. He is Christian by the way. But does one persons ethinicity or religion completely define them?

Let's hope we are not all that shallow.

Hate is the seed that grows spreading it's destructive vine, cutting off the sun and our ability to look and see people for who they are.....human. Our national bird is the Bald Eagle. When you get to the point where your thinking and mouth is slipping into a slur like the one's John Wayne is talking about. Take a minute and think of the American Eagle. She is not there to blind us from seeing each other, her wings are a symbol to cover and protect us, to unite us as one people.

We are Americans. That is enough.

New Jersey Govenor Chris Christie - Take Down

More candidates may be soon inviting New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in their corner. Christie's "tough guy" persona was full on in a showdown with a heckler at a Wednesday campaign event in California for GOP gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman. Perhaps candidates should be hiring bouncers for all the rude people that come to rallies for the sole purpose of acting like a children. Bravo, Mr. Christie!

People are whining that the heckler, or shall we call him 'gentlemen with a question', was just that, asking a question. Does he look in the video or here in this picture like he was being what is the word, Oh, I know...we have all almost forgotten it......

POLITE?

Just because you can yell loud doesn't mean you have something intelligent to say? I for one am delighted someone was confronted for a public display of rudeness, also known as "Going Palin." We the educated and respectful ask that you leave your "Palin Manners" at home!

Take it down a notch! Where have you gone America?

Restore Us To Sanity

Recently on most the 24/7 news channels, we have be inundated with extremist thought full of the poison of extremist fear. Let me tell you these guys know what they are doing, they know how to ride that pony! I keep hoping they will ride that poor pony to death, and yet it comes galloping back again in some new terror filled story. If these people do not find the Armageddon they keep harping on, well they just might explode. Is that a bad thing? Hmmm.

What is going on people?

Seriously, it is all about terror, we are a country in one big terror cycle according to Fox News, Hannity and the rest of the crazy nuts who cry constantly about how bad everything is in the United States. I am sick and tired of it.

A great number of these individuals have gotten into the habit of either "quoting", and I use that term lightly, because their quotes are so way out of context it has become a joke. Half of these idiots have no idea what the Federalist Papers are or what the Articles of Confederation were?

Do you? Don't Google now? Do you know?

We are a strong country people and lately the crazy people have been dominating the news cycles and it is getting down right ridiculous, no scurrilous of these people to continue whipping up that fringe of society that lives for the second coming, or the first, depending on your religious views. Some don't have any religious view and that makes them even more unpredictable. I mean why would you sit around predicting, hoping for the end of existence? Is it all that bad for you?

I think we need a group hug here. Somebody is feeling left out right now and they just can't stand the fact their party went down in flames in the last election. Take a cold shower and pull yourselves together man! You can always do something to correct it, like put up worthy candidates.

Now back to what I was saying about those people who go around spewing the phrase..."Our Founding Father's said..."

Yeah, what? Which ones? Because they said a lot of things, some of it would surprise you. NO they didn't always agree, correction they never agreed. Read! They were as contentious as a bunch of wet chickens. No different than now, except in one area.

They showed decorum and manners. They used Roberts Rules of Order, or tried very hard. They were gentlemen. In a time when that said something about a persons character and upbringing.

This madness of terror and rudeness that has become the way in America is sickening. It is not a sign the end is near. It is a sign of bad manners and upbringing. Shame on you...shame on your parents or lack of them in many cases.

If you have access to one, or even a Barnes and Noble. Take sometime and read what these men said. You don't need someone like Fox News to tell you about the Founding Fathers. You need to learn what they said yourself. It is your responsibility as a citizen who wishes to participate in our political process. If you don't care, then please don't go to any rallies and scream.

We seriously need to take it down a notch in this country and learn what we are talking about before we embroil ourselves in the search for more terror.

Oh, and try turning off the 'Terror Box', also known as a television, and pick up a book. It will do you a whole world of good and help with the national anxiety level.

Jon Stewart on Oprah

Priceless is not the word. America's most trusted news leader? You have to love it! I did check out his book, and it is not as good as the last. It has a few good lines in it, but I wouldn't buy this one. You be the judge.

Coal Mine Animal Hospital

I took my little Chihuahua in to the Vet today to get him all caught up on his shots. Coming to Coal Mine Animal Hospital was a great experience for my dog, Cricket. I was really impressed with the cleanliness and the care in which all the staff showed my dog. He really had a great time and this is a little guy who had to have three shots and lots of poking.

If you are looking for a good Vet in the Littleton, Colorado area. I highly recommend this practice and Dr. Erica Renkle, DVM

You pet will experience exceptional care. Call them at 303-973-3113 Tell them Cricket sent you! XO

I received this from a dear friend today on my birthday and wanted to share it with you. It of course was much to my delight. Any man in a kilt is much to my delight anyway......giggle!

But this birthday came with a hidden surprise that really is spectacular. My Grandson, Dylan Michael was born to his happy parents and to a very happy family. I never dreamed in all my life, that one of my grandchildren would arrive on September 16th.

Truly this was the best present any Grandma could ask for. So wee laddie this pipping is for you too!

Welcome to the World Little Dylan! This Grandma is over the moon for you!
